Police and ambulance called to man in distress on footbridge in Swindon

A man in distress has been talked down from a bridge over a main road in Swindon tonight.

Police and ambulance were called to the scene in Tewkesbury Way, between Mannington Roundabout and Toothill Roundabout, at some time around 9pm.

The patient was brought down from the footbridge at 9.45pm, but it’s not clear how long he was on it.

He was taken into the care of the ambulance service and will be transported to hospital for further care.
