Person dies after being struck by train in Wiltshire – air ambulance on scene

A person has died after being struck by a train in Wiltshire.

The casualty was hit by the GWR service between Exeter to Paddington Service at around 3pm today (30 April).

Emergency services, including Wiltshire Air Ambulance, are attending the scene near Westbury.

All lines are closed and diversions are in place whilst 999 responders work at the incident.

In a statement, GWR said: “Sadly, a person has been hit by a train between Taunton and Reading. This means all lines are blocked.

“Train services running through these stations will be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or diverted between Taunton and Reading.”
