Pedestrian suffers ‘significant injuries’ in collision — man arrested for serious assault

A man has been arrested after a pedestrian was hit by a car in a ‘deliberate’ collision in Trowbridge.

Emergency services were called to the incident outside BeeTees Cafe and Bar in Market Street, Trowbridge, at around 8.30pm last night (12 March).

The pedestrian, and man whose age is currently unknown, had been hit by a Volkswagen Golf.

The victim was taken to hospital with a significant but not believed to be life-threatening leg injury.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

The suspect remains in custody at Gablecross Police Station.
