Paul Warren remanded in custody charged with GBH with intent after man robbed

A 24-year-old has been remanded in custody after a man was left seriously hurt in a robbery.

Paul Tony Warren, 24, of Victoria Road, Old Town, has been charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent and robbery.

The incident, which is believed to have taken place in the Meadowcroft area late on Thursday night or in the early hours of Friday morning, saw a man in his 50s, robbed of the contents of his wallet.

The victim remains in hospital in a serious condition, having suffered significant injuries in the robbery.

Warren appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning (3 February), where he gave no indication of pleas and made no application for bail.

He was remanded in custody to attend Swindon Crown Court on 4 March.

Kate Prince appeared for the Crown Prosecution Service and Gordon Hotson appeared for the defence.
