One metre long python called Bellatrix on the run in Swindon’s Old Town

The owner of a one metre long snake, which has escaped from its Swindon home, is asking local residents to keep a look out for the runaway reptile.

The two-year-old python, named Bellatrix, has gone missing today.

She is thought to be in the Ashford or Kent Road area of Old Town and her owner doubts that she would have travelled much further at this stage.

Bellatrix is said to be harmless to humans, but may take a nibble on some wild rodents.

She’s is fairly timid, as is the nature of ball pythons. She like to hide in her cave, so will probably be found somewhere dark and cosy with not too much noise.

She’s wary around most humans, so will likely curl into a ball if approached, or if she has enough room she might slither away.

For identification, she has a tiny barely noticeable scar on her back, feels like a little scab.

Spot Bellatrix? Her owner, Keira, can be contacted on 07590 330 183.
