One person’s died and six others have been injured in a crash on the A36 near Wiltshire.
The four-car road traffic collision happened on Warminster Road in Claverton, east of Bradford on Avon, at around 9.15pm on Saturday evening (15 April).
Emergency services, including Wiltshire Air Ambulance, were called to the scene and seven people were treated for injuries.
One woman, who was rushed to hospital following the incident, did not survive her wounds despite medics’ efforts and she was pronounced dead on Sunday (16 April).
The vehicles involved were a white Ford Puma, blue BMW and two Ford Fiestas, one grey and the other blue.
The road was closed for collision investigation work and vehicle recovery for more than 12 hours.
In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police said: “We are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a four-car collision near Claverton last night (Saturday 15 April).
“Sadly, one woman died in hospital earlier today (Sunday 16 April). Our thoughts are with her family who have been informed and are being supported by a specially-trained officer.
“Enquiries were carried out at the scene by officers and we’d ask any witnesses who have not yet spoken with us, or any drivers in the area at the time and may have relevant dashcam footage, to please call us on 101 and quote reference number 5223087300.”
