‘Noisy’ scrap metal collectors arrested after ‘scaffolding poles stolen’

A pair of ‘noisy’ scrap metal collectors were arrested on Sunday (10 December).

Police were called to Downs View in Bradford on Avon following reports of a theft in progress.

It was reported that two males were helping themselves to metal scaffolding poles.

It’s alleged the pair were travelling in a tipper-style van with a mesh cage and shouting through a megaphone prior to the incident.

Daniel Depace, 34, of Longfellow Gardens, Caerphilly, and Phillip Frost, 36, of Lansbury Park, Caerphilly, have since been charged with theft.

They are due to appear Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on 19 January.
