Mental health incident requires huge emergency response in Swindon

A mental health incident required a huge emergency response in Swindon today (Monday).

Police and ambulance rushed to an address in Cherwell, off Eastlake in Tadpole Garden Village, at around 3.30pm this afternoon.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance’s critical care medics also attended the scene in the charity’s helicopter – which landed in a green space nearby.

At least five police cars, two double-crewed ambulances and a paramedic officer were spotted parked in the street.

A person is understood to have required life-saving care. It’s believed they were subsequently conveyed to hospital for further treatment.

Wiltshire Police confirmed that officers were called to a “mental health episode”.
