Men charged after police find ‘drugs, knife and gun’ during Chippenham traffic stop

Two men have been charged with numerous offences after a traffic stop in Chippenham.

A pair of 23-year-olds were arrested outside Snap Fitness in Audley Road at around 2.15pm on Sunday afternoon (6 March), when police stopped a BMW.

A search of the vehicle, and the occupants, revealed a stash of drugs, a knife and an imitation firearm.

Brodie Bennett, of Bathford Hill, Bathford, has been charged with possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine, and being concerned in the supply of heroon, cocaine and crack cocaine.

He is also charged with possessing an air or gas-powered Berretta-style handgun and a knife.

Alex Hobson, of Portway, Chippenham, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine.

The co-defendants are due to appear before Salisbury Magistrates’ Court today (8 March).
