Melksham woman ‘found with her trousers around her ankles urinating’ outside her home

A Melksham woman has breached suspended sentence orders by being ‘found with her trousers around her ankles urinating’ outside her home.

Latasha Sheppard, 32, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place at Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning (3 February).

The defendant, of Kingsbury Square, also admitted breaching two suspended sentence orders (SSOs), which were imposed by separate courts in March last year.

One of the SSOs was a 22-week in prison suspended for 18 months by magistrates for biting a security guard and spitting in the face of a shop manager in Chippenham.

Prosecutor Kate Prince today told the court that police officers responded to reports of a disturbance in Kingsbury Square, outside Sheppard’s home address, at 7.30pm on 12 November last year.

Spotting her ducking behind a car, the officers went to investigate.

“She was found with her trousers around her ankles urinating on a driveway”, Ms Prince said.

Moses Uzodima-Tawo, defending, asked for the offence to be dealt with a financial penalty as Sheppard is awaiting sentencing in the crown court for a breach of an SSO.

He said his client is currently claiming benefits after legal adviser Wanda Seath announced that the defendant owes £700 in outstanding court fines.

Magistrates fined her £40 and imposed a £34 victim surcharge.
