A Melksham man has admitted stabbing his wife ‘during a mental breakdown’.
Paul Korkus launched a frenzied knife attack on his victim as she slept at their home in Newleaze Park, Broughton Gifford, in the early hours of 7 May this year.
At Swindon Crown Court last week, the 61-year-old pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent – and will be sentenced on 8 November.
At a previous hearing on 8 May, the court heard that had been “in a distressed state for a number of days” prior to the incident and had recently attempted to take his own life.
