Medics take an hour to reach injured horse rider in muddy field

Wiltshire police officers spent an hour in a muddy field giving first aid to a seriously injured horse rider while waiting for medical teams to arrive.

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance attended the scene on Eastern Grey, Malmesbury, where PC Ross and his colleague had been helping the casualty.

The rider was flown to major acute-care hospital, Bath’s Royal United.

The extend of the rider’s injuries are unknown at this time.
