The owner of the McDonald’s franchises across Swindon has donated £500 to Wiltshire 999s’ fundraising campaign to support a family who lost everything in a house fire yesterday.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the blaze in Penhill Drive at around 5.30pm on Tuesday, but were unable to save the occupants’ possessions.

Three hours into the Penhill House Fire Family Fund being set up, local businessman Carl Room made a £500 donation to the cause, alongside many smaller donations from others.

The campaign has so far raised £680.

How ever big or small, ever donation matters. The funds will help support the family through an incredibly hard time, and make re-building their life that little bit easier.
