McDonald’s blaze: Road closed as emergency services deal with restaurant fire

Emergency services are currently in attendance of a fire at a McDonald’s restaurant. 

Fire crews were sent to the incident in Winchester Street, Salisbury, at around 5.30pm this afternoon following reports of a blaze.

The restaurant was evacuated and the roads near the scene were cordoned off.

The road is closed by police between Queen Street to Rollestone Street.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We are in attendance, along with Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, at a fire at McDonalds on Winchester Street.

“The restaurant has had to be evacuated and we have closed the road from Queen Street to Rollestone Street.

“We ask that you please find an alternative route. Thanks.”

It is not yet clear if anyone has been injured in the fire.
