Marlborough man accused of claiming a bomb was planted in GP surgery

A Marlborough man is accused of claiming that a bomb was planted in a GP surgery.

Jamie Man-Clarke appeared at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on Friday (6 October) charged with communicating false information by way of a bomb hoax.

It’s alleged the 32-year-old made a call to The Marlborough Medical Practice in George Lane on 4 October – claiming that a bomb had been planted within the building.

The surgery was evacuated as police attended the scene – with searches carried out and cordons lifted within approximately two hours.

Magistrates deemed the case too serious for summary justice and sent the case to Salisbury Crown Court. The next hearing is scheduled for 3 November.

Man-Clarke, of Jennings Road, gave no indication of plea and was remanded in custody.
