Man to stand trial accused of bringing knife to Wiltshire courthouse

A man is to stand trial accused of bringing a knife to a Wiltshire courthouse.

Bruce Penny, 40, is charged with being in possession of a blade in a public place – namely Salisbury Law Courts – on 8 March this year.

It’s claimed that security officers located the illicit article during a search of his bag and reported the matter to the police.

The defendant, of Green Close, Whiteparsh, near Salisbury, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

His trial will take place on 4 August at Swindon Magistrates’ Court.
