A man threatening to jump from a bridge saw a road in Swindon closed today.
Police and ambulance were called to the scene in the north of the town shortly before midday.
Westfield Way was shut by police as they attempted to talk the male patient down from the Woodhall Park footbridge.
The incident was resolved quickly, with the road reopening within the hour – before 1pm.
Wiltshire Police has confirmed they were called to reports of “concerns for a male adult” at the location.
“He was taken to a place of safety”, a force spokesperson said.
