Man remanded in custody after destroying life-saving defibrillator

A man’s been remanded in custody after destroying a hospital defibrillator.

Police were called to Great Western Hospital’s A&E department at yesterday evening, where officers arrested Jason Salt, 44, of Rosebery Street, for criminal damage. He was later charged.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police confirmed: “He was charged this afternoon (01/06) with criminal damage to property and was remanded in custody.

“He is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates on Monday 3 June.”
