Man drives off at high speed as female passenger screams for help in Swindon

Police are investigating an incident in Swindon whereby a woman was witnessed screaming for help.

It happened in Ferndale Road, near to the junction with Whitehouse Road, at around 3.30pm yesterday afternoon sparking a number of concerned locals to call 999.

A female passenger, who was travelling in a silver car – believed to be a Vauxhall Astra estate – was seen to open the door and scream for help before the male driver sped away with her still inside.

The vehicle was seen to overtake others waiting at the traffics before passing through red lights on the crossroads, travelling in the direction of Gorse Hill.

Wiltshire Police last night confirmed it is investigating the incident.
