Man dies after suffering cardiac arrest in stairwell of Swindon flats

A man has died after suffering a cardiac arrest in a stairwell of a block of flats.

Emergency services were called to the property in Fire Fly Avenue, Swindon, shortly before 8.30pm yesterday evening (Thursday, 28 December).

Wiltshire Air Ambulance landed in GWR Park in Faringdon Road to allow the charity’s critical care medics provide additional support to local ambulance crews on scene.

Several police officers also attended the incident to provide assistance.

Despite their best efforts, a man – aged in his 60s – was pronounced dead.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said the death is “not believed to be suspicious”.

They added: “A file will now be prepared on behalf of HM Coroner for Wiltshire.”
