Man detained under Mental Health Act after ‘sitting on railway bridge’

A man was detained by police after he was reportedly ‘sitting on a railway bridge’.

Officers were called to Cocklebury Lane, Chippenham, after concerns were raised about the welfare of a person at around 7.30pm on Sunday (23 July).

Wiltshire Police confirmed that the incident was “safely resolved” a short time later.

The man , aged in his 40s, was detained under the Mental Health Act and taken to a place of safety.
