Swindon man, 25, charged with possessing knife after town centre incident

A man has been charged with possessing a knife following an incident in Swindon town centre.

Police were called to the scene near the Town Hall building in Regent Circus yesterday afternoon (1 November).

The suspect involved was arrested by officers and has since been charged with a weapons offence.

25-year-old Leon Wilson, of Wakefield Close, Freshbrook, was charged with possession of an offensive weapon – a large knife – and is due to appear in court on 21 December.

He has been released from police custody on bail ahead of the court appearance.
