Swindon man charged with threatening woman and dog with knife

A man has been charged with threatening and woman and her dog with a knife.

Barry Bramble, 29, appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court in custody this morning (Wednesday).

The defendant, of Stockton Road, Penhill, denied a charge of common assault following the alleged incident.

Prosecutor Pauline Lambert said the woman – who Bramble is said to be in a relationship with – called 999 after being threatened with a knife earlier this week.

He’s also accused of threatening the dog with a knife before fleeing the address in Moredon Park.

Emma Thacker, defending, said his client offers a “straightforward denial”.

Ms Lambert sought for the defendant to be remanded into custody ahead of the trial – which was set for May.

District Judge Joanna Dickens however allowed Bramble bail with conditions not to contact the alleged victim or go to Moredon Park.
