A man has been arrested after Wiltshire Police carried out a raid on a property in Swindon.
Officers investigating a County Lines drug dealing operation executed a search warrant in Mustang Way, in Moulden View, yesterday (7 March).
A 12-year-old boy was located within a downstairs room, whilst a man and woman – understood to be the child’s mother – were found in bed on an upper floor.
A package of heroin was discovered under the mattress the pair were sleeping on, and approximately £3,000 was seized from different locations within the property.
The man, in his 30s and from Oxford, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and money laundering. He has since been released under investigation.
The woman, also in her 30s, was detained for a search. Despite being a suspect, she was not arrested and taken into custody due to the fact she had a child to care for.
At Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning, Wiltshire Police financial investigator Lou Martin applied to detain the seized cash for six months for forensic examination.
On hearing that one of the suspects claims to be able to provide evidence of the derivation of the cash, magistrates granted the police two-month detention.
