Man, 60s, arrested after pedestrian ‘deliberately struck with car’ in Salisbury attack

A man has been arrested on suspicion of deliberately striking a pedestrian with a car following an incident in Salisbury.

As first reported by Wiltshire, police officers were called to Pembroke Road at approximately 11.45am following reports that a car had hit a pedestrian.

A man in his 40s suffered multiple injuries and was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

The vehicle involved did not stay at the scene and enquiries were carried out.

A man in his 60s was later arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent.

He was also arrest on suspicion of several driving offences, including: causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving a vehicle which failed to stop after a road accident, failure to report an accident and using a vehicle without insurance.

He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
