As first reported by Wiltshire 999s, Lavington Lane was closed at 2.25pm – and remains closed – for collision investigation work. It’s not likely to reopen until after 8pm.

The driver of the van, a 50-year-old man, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving offences.

He remains in custody, but Wiltshire Police say it is unable to confirm the exact offences the suspect is being held on at this early stage.
