Man arrested after late night pursuit on suspected stolen motorbike in Swindon

Police arrested a man following a pursuit in Swindon late last night.

Officers chased a suspected stolen motorbike seen travelling at high speed in Cricklade Road shortly after 11pm on Wednesday, 17 February.

The pursuit ended quickly, with the vehicle coming to a stop near Simms Chippy in Beechcroft Road, Upper Stratton.

Wiltshire 999s’ readers last night reported a large number of police vehicles in attendance when the rider stopped the motorbike.

Wiltshire Police say a man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of failure to stop, theft of a motor vehicle and failure to provide a specimen for analysis.

He was taken to Gablecross Police Station where he remains in custody.
