Main road in North Wiltshire closed as firefighters rescue horse from ditch

A main road in North Wiltshire is closed following an incident involving a horse.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (DWFRS) were called to reports of a horse in a ditch near Minety shortly before 9am this morning (Saturday, 18 June).

Firefighters from Cricklade and Stratton (Swindon) were sent to rescue the animal.

The busy main route is closed at the junction with B4696 Braydon Road.

DWFRS says the road will reopen before 11.30am.
