Main road blocked as emergency services rush to crash near Swindon hospital

A main road in Swindon is blocked in one direction following a road traffic collision.

Emergency services are attending the crash in A4259 Marlborough Road, having been called to the scene at around 5.45pm today (Monday, 23 May).

The route is blocked between Great Western Hospital and Coate Water Roundabout. Traffic is building, with motorists queuing back to Commonhead Roundabout.

Police and the ambulance service appear to be at the incident, with a person lying in the road.

Witnesses suggested at least two cars were involved, but that’s not been officially confirmed.
