Wiltshire man, 26, who tried to buy 10-year-old for sexual activity jailed

Brimson was confronted by paedophile hunters from SGTI in Chippenham

A Wiltshire man who attempted to buy a 10-year-old child for sexual activity has been jailed.

This week Luke Brimson, 26, of Salisbury, pleaded guilty to four child sex offences after he was caught by paedophile hunters from SGTI in a sting in New Road, Chippenham, in late 2019.

The court heard how he had been talking to an adult online who had been posing as a 14-year-old girl, but following the sting, the Metropolitan Police Service provided evidence that Brimson has also tried to buy the services of a young child for sexual pleasure.

He was imprisoned for three years and nine months, issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) until further notice, and must register as a sex offender indefinitely.

The judge also order Brimson to be placed on the Barring List by the Disclosure and Barring Service. He must also pay £181 towards the cost incurred by victim services.
