Lanes on M4 closed in Wiltshire as car overturns in collision with tanker

Two lanes on the M4 has been closed following a crash involving a car and a tanker.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the westbound carriageway between junctions 16 and 17 at around 8am this morning (29 January).

There are severe delays past the incident, which has closed two lanes.

A black SUV car and a white tanker were involved. It appears the car overturned on impact with the side of the tanker.

Several roads policing units, ambulances and the fire service are in attendance.

However, no one’s believed to have suffered any serious injuries in the collision.

The lane closures are expected to remain in place for some time this morning as the recovery of the vehicles is undertaken.
