Chippenham Town Council has been awarded the Green Flag Award for John Coles Park.
Earlier this month, the local council were also awarded a Purple Flag accreditation for the town for a consecutive sixth year.
The prestigious Purple Flag accreditation for its evening and night-time economy, which aims to raise the standard and broaden the appeal of town and city centres between the hours of 5pm–5am.
The Green Flag recognises Chippenham’s most popular park, visited by thousands of people from across the county every year.
The competition judge said: “The park is a real credit to the Town Council and its staff. What a fantastic asset – a great visit thank you.”
“This fantastic accreditation reinforces the hard work and commitment shown by the Environmental Services team to ensure the park continues to be a much-valued asset to the Council and for the local community”, a council spokesperson said.
Adding: “The Green Flag Award scheme recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of recreational outdoor spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.”
