‘Jealous’ Chippenham man jailed over savage attack on ex-girlfriend

A man from Chippenham who seriously injured his ex-girlfriend has been jailed.

Tobias Graham Lee Nicholls, 34, was sentenced after he pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm when he appeared at Salisbury Crown Court on 14 April.

The defendant wounded the 44-year-old woman – who had recently ended their relationship – in her own home in a ‘jealous rage’ in May 2022.

The savage attack came when she arrived home after spending the day with a friend in Bournemouth.

The victim sustained a fractured jaw and chin, missing front teeth, a split gum and other injuries – and was taken to hospital by ambulance for urgent treatment.

Police attended the scene and forensic work was carried out at the address in Cowleaze, Chippenham.

The father-of-two, of Derriads Green, was handed a two year and six month prison sentence.

A restraining order was also imposed, prohibiting him from contacting the woman for five years.

Nicholls previously served three years and nine months behind bars for importing thousands of pounds worth of ecstasy and cocaine from Holland.
