A huge smoke plume can be seen as firefighters tackle a serious house blaze in Swindon.

Emergency services were called to the property in Welcome Avenue at around 2.30pm today (Saturday).

The building – thought to belong to Goddard Park Primary School’s caretaker – was found to be well alight.

Several fire engines are at the incident in Park North, battling the flames. The road is currently blocked.

Nobody is believed to have been inside the property and the ambulance service is not in attendance.
