A Highworth restaurant manager has been charged with two counts of sexual assault.
Mohinul Salam appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning (Wednesday, 7 September).
The 28-year-old is accused of sexually touching the alleged victim, aged under 18, multiple times at Salam’s Bar and Restaurant in High Street, Highworth.
The defendant, of Cheddar Road, Swindon, is also charged with harassment relating to sexual remarks, innuendos and comments which were reportedly made towards the girl.
Crown prosecutor Asha Seenauth said Salam allegedly touched the girl’s “thighs and bum area over her clothing”.
Tony Nowogrodzki, defending, said his client denies the allegations – claiming they are fabricated.
Magistrates booked a two-day trial, which will take place at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on 2-3 March 2023.
The alleged victim in this case has the lifelong right to anonymity. It is an imprisonable criminal offence to share any piece of information that could lead to the identification of the alleged victim.
