A high-speed police chase through a Swindon estate has ended with arrests.
The driver of a red Audi S1 attempted to flee officers in the early hours of this morning (Thursday).
They drove at over 100mph along residential roads in Walcot, followed by numerous police vehicles – including specially-trained roads policing and armed officers.
A decision was made to use tactical contact to bring the car to a stop safely to avoid any innocent members of the public coming to harm.
In Dorcan Way, at around 1am, the Audi was rammed off the road near the Grange Jaguar and Land Rover dealership.
As a result of the hard stop, two people were arrested for a number of offences – including dangerous driving.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “The Audi was driven at ridiculous speeds, over 100mph in residential areas and had to be safely stopped.”
