Four years in prison for Swindon drug dealer arrested in police crackdown

A drug dealer who was arrested during a two-day police crackdown on serious and organised crime in Swindon has been jailed for more than four years.

Ewan Burrows, 18, formerly of Green Lane in Upper Stratton and now of HM Bullingdon, appeared at Swindon Crown Court for sentencing today.

He had previously pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin, possession with intent to supply cannabis and possession of criminal property. He was jailed for four years and two months.

Burrows was arrested back in February of this year following a detailed police investigation into the local “Eldene” drugs line.

Officers executed a warrant at his home address in Green Road and seized a significant amount of cannabis, crack cocaine and heroin, as well as cash and mobile phones.

PC Craig Head, from the local neighbourhood policing team, said: “These drug dealing lines bring about a huge amount of harm to our communities.

“Not only are they dealing harmful and illegal drugs to vulnerable people, but there is also the associated violence, anti-social behaviour and exploitation which comes with it.

“We are committed to cracking down on this type of activity and we want our communities to feel reassured that we are working hard to arrest offenders and get these drugs off our streets.”
