Woman suffers life-threatening injuries after being hit by car in north Wiltshire

A four-way road closure is in place after a pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries when she was hit by a car this morning.

Emergency services were called to B4696 Spine Road East, just north of Ashton Keynes, at around 7am.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 50s, was flown to Southmead Hospital by air ambulance. A full collision investigation is currently underway.

A full closure of the crossroads junction at Ashton Keynes will be closed for the foreseeable future.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We were called shortly after 7am this morning (14/01) to a collision between a car and a pedestrian on the B4696 just north of Ashton Keynes.

“The pedestrian, a woman in her 50s, has been flown to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by air ambulance with life-threatening injuries.

“There are a number of road closures in place while we deal with the incident so would urge motorists to avoid the area at this time.”
