Four people arrested after attempting to spend £1,400 on stolen card in Swindon

Four people have been arrested after attempting to use a stolen credit card to buy £1,400 worth of products from a store in Swindon this afternoon, Wiltshire Police say.

The store, on Greenbridge Retail Park, alerted the police to suspect incident at around 12.30pm.

Rushing to the scene, police officers immediately stopped a Vauxhall Zafira on Greenbridge Roundabout.

Three women and one man – all from the London area – were arrested on suspicion of fraud and theft by misrepresentation. They remain in custody at Gablecross Police Station.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “A Vauxhall Zafira was stopped by officers nearby at 12.26pm and four people were arrested on suspicion of fraud and theft by misrepresentation. They are a 19-year-old woman, an 18-year-old woman, a 63-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man, all from the London area.”
