Four injured after car hits central reservation and overturns on A303

Four people have been injured in a crash on the A303 in Amesbury.

The horrific collision happened at around 12.40pm on Wednesday, 3 January, on the busy main road westbound between Solstice Park and Countess Roundabout.

A red Renault Megane was travelling west towards Amesbury when, for unknown reasons, it hit with the central reservation before returning to the carriageway and ending up on its roof on the verge.

The driver, a 54-year-old man, was taken to Salisbury District Hospital with a serious back injury.

A female passenger, 79, sustained serious back and pelvic injuries and was taken to Southampton Hospital.

Two other occupants of the vehicle were taken to Salisbury District Hospital for shock and minor injuries.

A police spokesperson said: “We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle prior to the collision, or anyone who may have witnessed the collision and has not already spoken to police.
