The building was evacuated prior to the arrival of the emergency services – and the establishment is expected to remain closed tonight.

Wiltshire 999s understands the fire started in a microwave, but it’s not yet clear how far the flames travelled or how much damage was done.

No one’s believed to have been injured in the fire.

The road is closed in both directions but there are minimal traffic delays.

UPDATE 8.40PM: A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to a small fire in the kitchen of the premises.

The first fire crew to arrive on scene was able to quickly extinguish the flames using four breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets.
