Four arrested at suspected brothel in Swindon remain in police custody

Four people arrested a suspected brothel in Swindon remain in police custody this afternoon.

Officers were called to the flat in York Road by local residents at 3pm on Friday, where an enforcer was used to gain entry to the property as the door wasn’t opened by those inside.

Three women and a man were arrested after police entered the property.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Officers have been attending an address in York Road yesterday to conduct a welfare check on the occupants following concerns the property was being used as a brothel.

“Three women and a man, located inside the address, have been arrested and are currently in custody.

“Our enquiries are ongoing.”

A police dog unit was also called to the scene to assist, but it’s not thought the dog was utilised.
