Five males flee on bicycles after stabbing man in Swindon, police say

A man was stabbed during an attack by five males in Swindon last night.

Police were called to the scene at around 7.45pm in Verwood Close, Park North.

The victim, who is in his 30s, is recovering following hospital treatment after suffering a stab wound to his lower leg.

Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses to the incident to come foward.

The force says a group of about five males fled the scene on bicycles following the brutal attack.

Members of the public are being told they may notice extra police patrols in the vicinity for community safety and reassurance.

Acting Detective Inspector Phillippa Sharpley said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who may know those responsible for this attack. It took place on a busy street and there may be plenty of people who saw what took place. If you can help, please call.”
