Firefighters tackle major farm building blaze involving 300 tonnes of straw

Firefighters are currently battling a major fire involving 300 tonnes of straw.

Fire crews were called to a farm building behind Ashton Keynes’ Church of England Primary School at around 7.30pm on Monday evening, 21 August.

The barn fire started at around 7.30pm last night

Three appliances, from Cricklade, Malmesbury and Cirencester, attended and were relived by crews from Swindon and Westlea overnight.

Approximately 100 tonnes of straw in the large farm building, measuring around 100 metres by 30 metres, remains alight this morning, Tuesday 22 August.
