Firefighters tackle early morning car blaze behind doctors’ surgery in Swindon

Firefighters were called to a car blaze behind a doctors’ surgery in the early hours of this morning.

One crew from Swindon Community Fire Station rushed to the scene, on Buckhurst Fields, at around 1.45am today, Friday 29 December, following 999 calls about the incident.

One breathing apparatus and one hose reel were used to extinguish the fire behind Kingswood Surgery.

Wiltshire Police were alerted to the blaze by the fire service, and confirmed that they are investigating.

A spokesperson said: “We were called by the fire service at 1.45am this morning to a report of a vehicle on fire in the Buckhurst Fields which back on to New College.

“The vehicle is believed to be a Suzuki Alto. Our enquiries are ongoing.”
