Firefighters called to Swindon housing estate as garden goes up in flames

A fire has broken out in the garden of a property on a Swindon housing estate.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene in Ramsbury Avenue, Penhill, at around 5pm today (Wednesday 21 September).

At least two fire engines are in attendance near Latton Close and currently battling the flames.

At one point, the flames were rising up higher than houses – reaching up by more than around 12 metres.

The fire is thought to involve a large tree and a shed, which is rumoured to contain gas canisters.
