Firefighters rescue pet cat from rooftop in village near Bradford on Avon

Firefighters were called to the rescue a cat from a rooftop near Bradford on Avon this afternoon.

The local crew were tasked to the incident in the Browns Folly area of Monkton Farleigh at just before 4pm following a report of the mammal sat on the apex of a house.

Firefighters used a triple extension ladder and roof ladder to reach the stuck pet. They also wore protective gloves to prevent injury from bites and scratches.

The domestic cat was returned to its owner safe and well.

On the other side of the country, in Swindon, fire crews have assisted in the rescue of an injured cat from the roof of a property in Ravensdale, East Wichel.
