Firefighters have saved most of the residents’ possessions, says incident lead

Firefighters tackling a serious blaze at a thatch cottage in Hodson have saved most of the residents’ possessions from the property, the fire service has said.

Emergency services were called the fire in Hodson at around 7.30am.

Talking to Wiltshire 999s at the scene, Group Manager Kathy Collis confirmed that the crews attending the incident have managed to salvage most of the family’s possessions.

She also said that a break put in the thatch between two homes has been successful so far. This should stop the fire spreading to the adjoining home.

More than 60 firefighters are currently at the scene.
