Firefighters free man trapped in car after crash with tree near Minety

Firefighters have freed a man trapped in his car after crashing into a tree near Minety.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Lower Swillbrook Farm – between Sawyer Hill and Spine Road West – at just after 9.30am.

A Skoda left the road, collided with a tree and forced the roof in on a male casualty, trapping him.

A Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called by the police at 9.40am to a single vehicle collision.

“Two crews are in attendance – one from Cricklade and one from Stratton St Margaret.

“The roof was impacted. Crews released one casualty who is now in the care of the ambulance service using their rescue equipment.”
