Firefighters deal with blaze as bonfire spreads across Trowbridge gardens

Two dozen firefighters tackled a serious garden fire in Trowbridge this afternoon.

A bonfire has spread to nearby bushes, fences and sheds within a number of gardens in Beech Grove off College Road, with four fire engines at the scene.

Five sheds and 40 square meters of land and fencing were destroyed by fire.

Firefighters have warned residents not to have bonfires when the ground is dry and hot.
